Staff Software Engineer, Platform

Our platform is the floor everyone else stands on. When it holds, nobody notices. When it wobbles, everyone does. We want a staff engineer who finds that responsibility energizing rather than terrifying.

What you’ll actually do

Design the primitives — the APIs, the runtime, the deploy path — that thousands of builders touch every day. Delete more code than you write. Turn ‘it depends’ into a sensible default that just works.

You’ll fit right in if

You’ve run systems at real scale and have the scar tissue to prove it. You care more about the developer on the other side of the API than the cleverness of the abstraction. You write the docs before anyone asks.

Nice extras

Time spent in distributed systems, WASM, or language runtimes. Open-source work we can nerd out over. A strong, defensible opinion about tabs versus spaces.

How hiring goes

A real conversation, a paid work-trial on an actual problem, and a final round with the team. No whiteboard riddles, no trick questions — about two weeks start to finish.
